Norris Leads Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at all of the previous five race weekends.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from Piastri by a single point after taking the win in Mexico City a fortnight back, topped the Australian by a mere 0.023s.
Before then, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver during the running before sprint qualifying due at 6:30 PM GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the points battle, trailing 36 points Norris, ended up in 17th position as his Red Bull team followed a different programme.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to crash, though minor, when he spun at Turn Four during the early running.
Tsunoda lost control over the track edges before rotating through the gravel trap, and was blessed to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also lost it, at the final moments of the practice, turning around through the high-speed Mergulho corner before the final corner on to the main straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in P19, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were well clear of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car P3, 0.619secs slower than the Australian's time.
The Aston Martin of the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto in front of Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
